MIUtec Iso stands for clothing where premium fashion meets circularity and our goal is to ensure that our customers do not have to compromise on function, style or sustainability. To achieve this, we use completely reusable materials and have created a line of jackets that are perfect as everyday jackets, travel companions, activewear and casual going-out jackets.

But not in nature.

Whether it's an insulated jacket, a hooded jacket or a vest, they're all essentially the same and have been developed using the monomaterial concept. What makes these jackets unique is the new next-generation functional materials and the fact that they're designed for the circular economy. In contrast, ordinary insulated jackets are made from a mix of different materials. Overall, a colorful mix of fibers and materials, which is one of the main reasons why only 1% of all clothing is actually recycled today.

We designed our insulation jackets from just two mono-materials. Instead of down or a non-degradable synthetic filling, we use insulation made from wood-based fibers, which gives the jacket the same functionality and performance, but is completely bio-based and degradable.

And the best part of the jacket: every other detail, including the entire zipper, sewing thread, pockets, etc., is made from a single raw material - a new type of polyamide with improved degradation properties.

Our first generation of the MIUtec Iso jacket not only won the prestigious ISPO Award 2022 thanks to its innovative and sustainable concept, but also received the coveted ISPO Public Choice Award. This means that we were able to prevail against the big names in the fashion industry with this jacket and send a clear signal of Swiss innovative strength.

Last year we launched the previous version of the ISO line on Kickstarter, the largest international crowdfunding platform, and were able to reach the funding goal of 100 jackets in the first 24 hours. An enormously valuable and proud milestone for the entire Muntagnard team and a clear sign of the innovative power of our development department.

Muntagnard is Romansh and means “mountainer”. As a Graubünden company, we are taking new, unknown paths to promote sustainable innovations and make them tangible. For us, sustainability is not a goal, but rather the actual starting point and a lever for innovation and continuous development.
