Every garment begins with the fiber. The material determines function, quality, feel, and lifespan.
We don't just choose materials. We develop them together with specialized partners. We test, refine, and make conscious decisions. Every fiber has an origin. Every fabric a function.

A matter of conviction
We are intensively engaged with raw materials, yarns, and fabrics. With their origin. With their processing. With their behavior over time.
Our fascination with materials has grown. With every project, with every development.
Wool from Switzerland.
Wood-based fibers.
Regeneratively grown cotton.
Recycled natural fibers.
We test, compare, discard, and refine. Until substance, function, and origin harmonize.

Quality begins with the selection.
We work with fibers that are among the highest quality of their kind. Not only in their structure and feel, but also in their origin and processing.
Some of the raw materials we use have become rare because they are difficult to extract, are available in limited quantities, or meet significantly higher standards.
Renewable or recycled materials. Biodegradable fibers. Traceable supply chains. For us, sustainability is not an add-on, but an integral part of our definition of quality.
A material is only truly convincing when it is functional, durable, and responsibly produced.
"We invest an enormous amount of time in materials – often more than is later visible in the product. But not every good material is right for us."
Dario P. (co-founder of Muntagnard)
Our Materials
The following raw materials define our garments. Many of them are produced exclusively for Muntagnard in close collaboration with our partners.

Swiss wool
An alpine material with a history.
It forms the basis of our own LANA fabric. Sourced in Switzerland, processed with partners in Switzerland and Northern Italy. Structured. Authentic. Durable.
