Sustainable innovation from Switzerland – The MIUtec Iso Jacket

Fashion reimagined – without compromise

Sustainability and style are often seen as opposites – but they don't have to be. At Muntagnard, our aim is to develop high-quality clothing that is not only sustainable but also offers supreme comfort and timeless design. Our focus is on carefully selected materials, durable quality, and innovative production processes that open up new avenues and possibilities.

One example is our MIUtec Iso Jacket, which was developed precisely according to these principles. It has not only won multiple awards but also represents a consistent implementation of the circular economy in the fashion industry.

An idea from the Bündner mountains

Muntagnard was founded with the vision of radically rethinking fashion. We used our experience in sustainability and strategy consulting to create a brand that combines innovation and responsibility. We stand for Swiss values: quality, durability, and well-thought-out functionality.

For us, sustainability is not a trend but the starting point for true innovation. Therefore, we consistently rely on renewable, recyclable, and biodegradable materials. Long-standing partners such as the Zurich Film Festival, Hockey Club Davos, and personalities like Nino Niederreiter and 3-star chef Sven Wassmer also trust this approach.

The MIUtec Iso Jacket – Sustainability through Reduction

Many conventional jackets consist of over ten different materials, which makes recycling almost impossible. Our approach is different: We reduce to the essential. The MIUtec Iso Jacket follows the monomaterial principle and consists of only two easily separable components – a decisive step towards true circularity.

The material selection also sets new standards: Instead of using down or synthetic fillers, we use an innovative wood fiber insulation, which is not only lightweight but also offers excellent thermal performance. All other components – from the fabric to the thread to the zipper – consist of a single, fully recyclable and biodegradable functional fiber. The jacket is manufactured in a European sewing factory by our Swiss production partner.

Functionality for everyday life

In addition to sustainability, we also focused on everyday usability. The MIUtec Iso Jacket is ultra-light, windproof, and pleasantly warm – ideal for the daily commute, a city trip, or a leisurely stroll in the mountains. Its minimalist design makes it versatile and a durable companion for every occasion.

International Recognition for a Swiss Innovation

The great response shows that our approach resonates with the times: The MIUtec Iso Jacket was awarded the prestigious ISPO Award twice, including the Public Choice Award. Particular emphasis was placed on the clear focus on recyclability and the functional, minimalist design – aspects often lacking in the fashion industry.

What's next?

Currently, our clothing is exclusively available in Switzerland – through our online shop and in our own stores in Chur, Zurich, and Andermatt. But our vision extends further: Later this year, we will take our first targeted steps abroad to make sustainable Swiss fashion internationally accessible.
