What makes us "essentially different"?
We founded our company with the aim of building something ourselves and contributing to change the textile industry. So we were quite happy that the people around us started to perceive our alternative way of thinking. With the increasing importance and relevance of sustainable and circular fashion, we had the feeling that we had to find out what exactly we did or not that can take over from others. After all, it is a fairly daring statement for such a small and new company. So we thought that we gave a little insight into how we see our approach ourselves and how this opens up a completely new niche for us in the fashion industry:
The start
It all started that we, Dario and Dario, the founders of Muntagnard wanted to take new ground. Four years ago we came to the realization that we would never find our passion in too structured, conventional professions. Since we terminated our jobs in management consultancy, we have been looking for the adventure. We wanted to start our own company and follow our entrepreneurial ambitions. We were always enthusiastic about looking outside the box and breaking out of our comfort zone. Even if we did not yet have a clear idea of what should become, we got to work. We knew that our focus had to be on creating an innovative company. A company that shows that sustainability and business success do not have to contradict. But we never thought that we, two former management consultants, would work with textiles ...The philosophy in the team
We see a central aspect in the way we approach the daily tasks and challenges in our team. We quickly felt drawn to the textile industry. Not only because it is an exciting and constantly changing business, but also because it is a highly problematic one. Determined to question the status quo of the industry, we aimed to rethink materials, their sources, their ecological and social effects and their functionalities. This is how our brand was created. A brand that wants to make sustainability desirable and that feels responsible for transparency towards the customer. A brand that wants to drive sustainable innovations to create a new status quo for the economy.At MUNTAGNARD we always get involved with passion and go the extra mile. We do not believe that it is sufficient if only a part of our products meet our high and ambitious standards. That is why we develop a number of products that completely correspond to our understanding of circular economy. This ambition to improve products down to the smallest detail and think again is our drive. Our processes should be clean, fair, traceable and understandable and we want to find and implement new solutions.
Sustainability as a starting point instead of as a goal
In order to follow our ambition, we knew that we had to work with companies that look outside the box and are ready to take new ground. Our partners are pioneers in the textile industry and have their own unique way of combining innovation and sustainability. They are scattered all over Europe in countries such as Portugal, Greece, Austria and Switzerland. They all help to ensure that the processes run smoothly and our products become of high quality and innovative.We have entered the textile industry because we are convinced that we can offer our customers added value. The people who confidently go their own life. They want to wear responsible and sustainable clothing, but are not ready to forego comfort, quality and style.
In summary, we believe that in today's world it doesn't hurt to be different. Unlike the standard, unlike the status quo and the way it was always done. We are here to break new ground, try alternative solutions, to promote sustainable innovations and, what is most important, to make sustainability desirable. We think, we question, we take care of ourselves and we never stop developing. And that is what, in our opinion, distinguishes us from a sea of brands in the textile industry. Sustainability is not a goal for us, but the lever for innovation and continuous further development and improvement.
